In my last post, I discussed the minimalist trend for spring summer 09. Another big trend which has manifested both as part of the minimalist and in more detailed and interesting clothing is nude colours. These are those very neutral shades of pink, beige and peach which almost look like the colour of skin.

There are two important factors to consider when choosing a nude outfit:
Texture - a plain outfit in a nude colour can sometimes look like it is almost there. Adding interesting textures such as jaquard patterns, shiny or velvet feel fabrics is a great way to add some interest to a nude fabric.
Skin tone -choose the right shade of nude to match your skin tone. If you find a nude outfit that you love but doesn't look right, try lift your skin tone a little using a fake tan. For a natural, streak free tan that does not rub of on your clothes try Aloe Sunless Tanning Lotion.
Nude colours can also look great with brightly coloured accessories. Try bright pink, electric blue, juicy oranges or neon greens.
