Faux fur Cardigans

Faux fur cardigans are fast becoming my personal winter trademark as I find myself powerless to resist buying them.  This morning I got up and I could hear the birds singing which means spring is here or fast approaching.  So why am I still buying winter cardigans? Beats me, but I really like this fur trim cardigan in lambswool (65%) and acrylic (35%).  It's very stylish and at £10.00 in Boohoo's clearance sale, it's great value for money as well.  Bought myself one a couple of weeks ago and have really enjoyed wearing it.  What's great about this cardigan is that it certainly won't go out of fashion and would look just as stylish next winter.  I'm especially looking forward to wearing it under my winter coats.

Classic coats

Every winter whether I absolutely need a new coat or not I simply can't resist looking at all the styles of winter coats on offer.  The thing is my myopic vision always sets in and I find myself drawn to classic style coats like this corduroy trench coat for example.

For me this coat ticks three boxes as material, style and colour really hit the mark for me. You can't get more classic when it comes to material than corduroy or more classic than the faithful trench when it comes to coats or more versatile when it comes to colour than brown.

The trench coat has been around for centuries and is the iconic coat for many a detective drama.  The first that comes to mind for me is the ever popular Kojac, I Spy, Ironside and Get Smart with Ann Hathaway sporting a modernised double breasted white trench.

I spotted this coat at Debenhams and now I see that there is a half price on winter coats.  With a whooping 50% off, my trench is now £45.00 down from £90.  Let's hope they still have my size.

Winter Coats that will get you noticed

The mornings are now cold, though it still brightens up in the afternoons these days. But we know that it is officially Autumn and I am already layering up and looking to choose a new winter coat to add to my capsule wardrobe. I want something to keep me warm as well as look fashionable.

Practically I must be able to layer up my coat depending on the temperature and style wise my coat must be able to pull a look together.

Here are some favorites I have my eye on. Vivid reds and vibrant purples have been popular this season on the catwalks and so I have my eye on this Hooded Cape Coat. I like the architectural design and the exaggerated structural shape of this coat and know that I will be able to wear it for years to come.

Another vibrant purple coat is this Long Line Coat below by MARIANNE JAMES. It has a lovely shape with its fitted waist and flare bottom. I especially like the big hooded collar to snuggle up in style.



Now this Rainbow Coat is very Michelle Obama looking and sure to get you noticed when you are out and about even if you are not the first lady. This single breasted, statement wool coat has a full satin lining, and bright contrast binding.


Last on my list so far is this Jazzy Trench Coat. The animal print which is always fashionable certainly appeals to me. May not be the most practical coat when it comes to warmth but I can certainly layer it up with some wool and cashmere sweaters and jumpers.


Did I say last on my last? Well I meant second to last because for me the most versatile coat is a wrap and I know that this alapca wool wrap will go with everything and will certainly keep me warm. What do you think?

Stylish Winter Coats to See You Through to Spring

With all of the cold , slushy snow and icy pavements, it is easy to let the weather have an impact on your style. The most common style choice for cold weather is the ubiquitous black coat. I am getting slightly bored with the black winter coat lately. Whilst it is certainly versatile and goes with everything, it is kind of lacking in imagination in the style stakes.

But there are some alternatives which are much brighter and happier than a plain black winter coat. I love the bright juicy coloured coats, which look even better when teamed with some equally bright hats, gloves and scarves. Try clashing and contrasting colours for a really cool eclectic look.
